Summer 2012

My first real post!

So, since it’s almost July and summer is already here, let’s check the up-coming animes this season. You’ve probably seen this already but still, I wanna share my watch list for this season 🙂

There seems to be a lot of interesting anime, but unfortunately, I won’t be able to watch them all 😦 The only ones I will most definitely watch are Yuru Yuri S2 and Kokoro Connect. These two will be my top priority this season and not even school could stop me from watching them.

I’ll give a brief synopsis about the ones I’m looking forward to and the ones that for me looks really interesting. (Sorry, I’m too tired to write all of those in the list, it’s past 12 midnight here XD) :

First up: Kokoro Connect

Synopsis: The “love and teen pentagonal comedy” follows the strange phenomena at the Yamahoshi Academy’s Culture Club, starting with the five male and female club members switching bodies with each other.

Main reason for watching: Toyosaki Aki ❤

Yes, I’m one of those seiyuu otakus but I’m definitely still in my right state of mind. If you’ve seen K-ON! then I’m sure you know her. I downloaded the Drama CD, the 18 chapters of the manga and the 7 volumes of the light novel (both in raw though :(, I can’t freaking find a translated one), all because of  my love for Aki. But then as I saw how the story progressed in the manga, I found it really interesting, especially the body-swapping thing. So now, I’m excited about the anime not just because My Aki is there, but also it has a good slice-of-lice (which is my favorite genre), teen romcom, and gender bender story.

2nd: Yuru Yuri

Synopsis: Right after starting middle school, Akari Akaza joins the Amusement Club which is composed solely by her two childhood friends, Kyouko Toshinou and Yui Funami. Chinatsu Yoshikawa, Akaza’s classmate, becomes a member after finding out about the dissolution of the Tea Club.
The Amusement Club, situated at the tea room facility since the Tea Club disbanded, has no clear purpose, being free for the girls to do whatever they want.

Main reason for watching: Insane ridiculousness, insane characters, insane comedy, insane yuri story, it’s just insanely great.

I thank all the heavens for making a season 2 come true. This anime is the one responsible for making me a citizen of the Yuri nation LOL Well, it’s a dual citizenship actually, I still love girl x boy romances, and my love for yuri only goes as far as light shoujo ai comedies, without all the ecchi and everything. But I admit, when I watch a friendship themed anime and all the characters are girls, I can’t help but use my yuri goggles sometimes XD And oh, as you can see, My Aki is among the cast, so, all the more reason ❤

The following are animes I will most likely watch:

Tari Tari

Synopsis: The story centers around five Japanese high school students who are too young to be called adults, but who no longer think of themselves as children.
Wakana Sakai once took music lessons, but she withdrew from music after losing her mother. Konatsu Miyamoto is a positive-thinking girl who loves singing and spends time after school at the vocal music club. Sawa Okita is a spirited archery club member who dreams of becoming a horse rider. Daichi Tanaka is a chronically late badminton team member who lives with his college student sister. “Wiin” just transfered into Wakana’s class after 12 years abroad in Australia.
Music brings Wakana, Konatsu, Sawa and the others together into an ensemble during their last summer in high school.

Main reason for watching: It has music, nice plot, good art, it’s from P.A. Works, and most of all, it’s a slice-of-life anime.

I love slice-of-life themed animes. These kind of shows are the ones that usually leaves a mark in me because I can somehow relate to the characters, and there’s always the lesson about life to be learned. Aside from the genre, the “high school students who are too young to be called adults, but who no longer think of themselves as children” line in the synopsis caught my interest. I think the line speaks for itself, and these kind of teenage life stories are my type. Also, P. A. Works made this, these people are the ones behind True Tears, Hanasaku Iroha and Another.

Blood Lad

Staz is the vampire boss of a section of the demon world, but he has little interest in human blood. He’s more infatuated with Japanese culture. When he learns that Yanagi Fuyumi, a Japanese teenage girl, accidentally wanders into the demon city, he jumps to the occasion. However, while Staz deals with an intruder on his turf, the oblivious Fuyumi is killed by a monster and becomes a wandering ghost. The disappointed Staz vows to her that he will find a way to bring Fuyumi back to life.

Main reason for watching: I’m a fan of the manga and I love Staz ❤

Well, this is a comedy, action, supernatural, romance anime so even if I wasn’t a fan of the manga, I will still watch this. And you just gotta love the otaku vampire, Staz. I can’t really say anything more, just see it for yourself XD Oh, there’s also a little ecchi touch in this. I’m not into ecchi but, a little, just a little would be fine.

La Storia Della Arcana Famiglia

Synopsis: The story follows Arcana Famiglia, a self-appointed organization with mysterious powers that has protected a small Mediterranean island from pirates, foreign countries, and other threats. The only daughter of the family’s “Papa,” Felicitá, will be married to the next head of the family in two months — and the successor will be decided in a competition that Felicitá herself will take part in.

Main reason for watching: It seems interesting XD

The only thing I know about this is that it’s adopted from a manga lol But the plot looks interesting, and the art is good so I’ll probably watch this :3

Sword Art Online

Synopsis: The only way to escape is to ‘clear’ the game. Game over means actual ‘death’ —- The ten thousand who have logged onto the as of yet mysterious game ‘Sword Art Online’ have been forced into this perilous death game. Protagonist Kirito, one of the many gamers, has greeted this ‘truth’. He plays as a solo player in the giant castle that is the stage for this game —- ‘Aincrad’. To meet the conditions of clearing the game — getting through all 100 floors, Kirito fights his way through this quest alone.

Main reason for watching: Because everybody says it’s good.

Ok, honestly, I’m not one of those who are really excited about SAO. Like Arcana Famiglia, I know nothing except for the fact that’s it’s a manga, but since many people are anticipating for SAO (and this is probably the most awaited anime this season), I’m gonna check it out to see if it’s really that good. The art is pretty nice too.

OVAs & Movies I’m anticipating:

Hyouka: Mostubeki mono wa OVA

Berserk The Golden Age Arc: The Battle for Dudley

Blood-C: The Last Dark

That’s all. I need to sleep now XD What a boring first post, sorry about that. Well, that’s my watch list for the summer season, I can’t add more because school works won’t allow me to. Thanks for reading!

Ja ne~!
